Joseph Gordon-Levitt, while attending the premiere of Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F in Beverly Hills, looked into the 25th-year celebration of the classic comedy movie 10 Things I Hate About You. While promoting his latest film, Gordon-Levitt took time to explain how the film that came out in 1999 is still popular among people even after all these years.

Speaking to Nischelle Turner from Entertainment Tonight, the actor exclaimed that he still cannot believe that 10 Things I Hate About You remains so beloved. He said: "It's incredible to think that after 25 years, this film still holds such a special place in people's hearts," The versatile actor said that he was happy that he has been associated with those project which are still relevant in the society today.

"To be an artist and see your work cherished over a quarter of a century later is both humbling and incredibly satisfying," he added. The premiere also had great significance for Gordon-Levitt as he is transitioning to a new part of the Beverly Hills Cop series.

The fourth film also stars Eddie Murphy, reprising his role as the street-smart Detroit cop Axel Foley. He is now back in Beverly Hills for another round of action to foil a plot against his character’s daughter, portrayed by Taylour Paige.

Gordon-Levitt enters into the picture as Detective Bobby Abbott, Foley’s latest partner in solving the intricate crime.

Gordon-Levitt's Nostalgic Reflections

Gordon-Levitt recalled the importance of the series for him while reflecting on his involvement in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.

He shared nostalgia connected with the primary movie which came out in 1984, and its impact on him. "The first song I ever played on the piano was from Beverly Hills Cop. My brother and I grew up idolizing Eddie Murphy," he said.

When speaking about 10 Things I Hate About You, Gordon-Levitt noted that the movie portrayed the spirit of youth and rebellion, which would always be topical.
"I just can't believe people still. I mean, it's so delightful.

How often do you get to be an artist and make something and then 25 years later, people are still talking about it. I'm gonna tell you the truth. I never would have guessed," he explained. Gordon-Levitt shared insights into how his role in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F when the conversation shifted back to his current project. So, with a laugh, he questioned if his children were in a position to see their dad in such an intense movie role.

"It's a bit surreal for them to see me in these intense scenes, but sharing parts of the process, like a music scoring session, is a wonderful way to involve them," he said. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is scheduled for July 3 via Netflix and will offer more than just the regular movie thrill for the long-running series fans.
