In a bizarre twist to a routine news interview, Henry Winkler native New Yorker probably best known for playing "The Fonz" on the hit 1970s sitcom "Happy Days"-was dramatically evacuated from Dublin's Shelbourne Hotel following a fire.

The fire broke out early Wednesday morning, and Winkler and the other guests were quickly escorted out as alarms began sounding around 10:30 a.m. Unaware she was interviewing a Hollywood legend, an Irish reporter from RTE News captured Winkler's humorous yet composed recount of the morning's chaos.

Initially mistaking the fire alarm for his clock radio, Winkler humorously narrated, "When I heard the fire alarm, I thought it was the clock radio," not realizing the urgency until he entered another room and the persistent "buzzing" followed.

He then phoned the reception, where he was promptly advised to evacuate, leading him to switch into a dramatically panicked voice for effect.

Thankfully, the Dublin Fire Brigade swiftly managed the situation, containing the fire within an hour and preventing significant damage to the 200-year-old establishment.

Post-evacuation, Winkler, who was in Dublin promoting his new memoir "Being Henry: The Fonz ... And Beyond," took to Instagram to share his gratitude towards the fire service. His post, accompanied by selfies with the firefighters, celebrated their efficiency with a spirited caption, praising "Dublin's finest" for their rapid response.

The post garnered attention when the Dublin Fire Brigade humorously responded with a nod to Winkler's varied iconic roles, referencing both Fonzie and his character Mr. Cousineau from the HBO series "Barry." This encounter is not the first time Winkler has unintentionally become the subject of an international news segment.

In a similar, light-hearted incident in 2013, he was approached by a BBC reporter on the streets of London to discuss local issues, only for the journalist to realize mid-interview the stature of his impromptu guest. Through these serendipitous interactions, Winkler showcases not only his enduring charm but also his ability to handle unexpected situations with a blend of humour and grace, making him a beloved figure both on and off the screen.
