Amazon Prime Video is set to captivate audiences with its new action-thriller series, "Countdown," starring Jensen Ackles and crafted by the talented Derek Haas, known for his impactful contributions to the "One Chicago" series.

The series, which will span 13 episodes, delves into a gripping narrative where LAPD officer Mark Meachum, portrayed by Ackles, is thrust into a covert task force following a daylight murder. This task force, comprising undercover agents from various law enforcement branches, uncovers a larger, more menacing plot threatening the city.

Ackles, fresh from his memorable stint as Soldier Boy in Amazon's "The Boys," is not only the lead but also an executive producer through his and his wife Daneel's company, Chaos Machine, which is under a first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios.

His enthusiasm for reuniting with the Prime Video team is palpable. "After the incredible experience on 'The Boys,' I'm excited to continue this journey with 'Countdown,' and look forward to bringing this thrilling narrative to life alongside Derek and our talented team," Ackles shared.

Haas is a star of the screen, co-creating and executive producing television hits like "Chicago Fire," "Chicago Med," and "Chicago PD"; he also co-created and ran "FBI: International.".

His talent as a writer didn't stop at the small screen. His film and literary contributions include teaming up to write "3:10 to Yuma" and the "The Silver Bear" series of novels. We are thrilled to have him for 'Countdown,' we know that with Jensen's charisma in the lead, this series will be a breakout for our global viewers."
