Alec Baldwin is launching a new TV series featuring his family life as he faces an upcoming involuntary manslaughter trial related to the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie "Rust" in October 2021.

Baldwin, 66, alongside his wife, Hilaria, and their seven children, will star in a reality show that promises viewers a glimpse into the family’s daily highs and lows. The show's announcement has sparked criticism, with some seeing it as a strategic move to sway public opinion and potentially influence his trial jurors.

Representing Hutchins’ family, Gloria Allred called it a "calculated and cynical public relations move." According to Allred, Baldwin aims to present himself as a relatable family man, diverting attention from his role in the tragic incident.

Baldwin's series will not air until next year but has already generated buzz on social media, where the family has been actively promoting it. The timing coincides with his trial, set to begin on July 10 in New Mexico, raising suspicions about the actor’s motives.

Witness Challenges Baldwin

Compounding Baldwin’s legal challenges, reports have surfaced about a possible defense witness expressing a desire for Baldwin to face jail time. These remarks allegedly came from Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the Rust armorer, who was recently sentenced to 18 months in prison for her role in mishandling the firearm that killed Hutchins.

Gutierrez-Reed’s disdain was apparent in leaked phone call transcripts where she disparaged the prosecution and mocked the jury. Despite these controversies, Baldwin has consistently denied pulling the trigger of the Colt .45 pistol that discharged on set.

The upcoming show promises an intimate look at Baldwin's personal life, contrasting his public legal battles. In a teaser shared on Instagram, Baldwin and his family appear carefree and loving, starkly contrasting to his grave legal issues.

Baldwin humorously concludes the teaser with a light-hearted remark about the chaos of family life, indicating the tone of the upcoming series. As Baldwin prepares for his trial, his new show will undoubtedly continue to stir debate and speculation about the intersection of celebrity, legal strategy, and public perception.

Whether this will affect his trial remains to be seen, but for now, the Baldwins are set to invite audiences into their world, amidst ongoing turmoil.
