Just hours before Hollywood rolls out Season 3 of "Mayor of Kingstown" this Sunday, Jeremy Renner is sharing some of the great news about his next significant motion picture role. The Oscar-nominated actor is set to star in the new film with Daniel Craig, "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery." Renner now becomes part of the all-star pop ensemble that includes Kerry Washington, Josh O'Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Glenn Close, and Andrew Scott.

The film will reunite Daniel Craig in the lead role of the modern-day detective Benoit Blanc, returning to the project at Rian Johnson's request. Johnson penned the movie and produced it with his T-Street partner, Ram Bergman.

Mystery Builds Momentum

Although the deal keeps concrete plot details under tight wraps until the movie gets up and running, the new feature follows hot off the success of 2022's "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery," a film that will have blown into its sails following the streamer's hefty $450 million swing to land two sequels in the massively popular film series of which "Wake Up Dead Man" will represent the third.

With that being said, the movies from the "Knives Out" series are the ones that audiences generally look forward to the most, with respect for nothing different and pushing limits in terms of storytelling. It is supposed to start filming next month, with the release date slated 2025.

This is quite the film role for Jeremy Renner, seeing as it is his first commitment to a feature after he miraculously survived a near-fatal snowplow accident at the beginning of last year. His fans and colleagues expected much from Renner as he came back to feature films with a set agenda of undergoing several surgeries and a long, painful rehabilitation process to come back from the life-threatening injuries.

He continues to wow in performances in "Mayor of Kingstown," thus ensuring that his name remains resounding in television and film. Netflix is at it again: placing another mystery into the buzz with a global premiere and the latest wild adventure for detective Benoit Blanc.
