In great news for lovers of crime thrillers, Mark Ruffalo is in final talks to join Chris Hemsworth in the upcoming movie adaptation of Don Winslow's novella "Crime 101." What makes it exciting is that the film is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and in the hands of reputed director Bart Layton.

The screenplay is written by Layton, in collaboration with Peter Straughn. The two will surely bring to life the amazing story of Winslow. "Crime 101" focuses on the elaborate detective work that Lou Lubesnick is doing-his best to run after several elegant jewel heists.

The thief is making use of a strict code of conduct known to them as "Crime 101," and for the detective, it's bone-chilling work. Not only that, Chris Hemsworth is also in the queue for the top star of the movie with a producing credit along with his partner, Ben Grayson.

The film is tentatively looking at a release date in theaters next year and has built quite some buzz; expectations are high.

Stellar Production Team

The producing team features multi-award-winning producers Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan under the Working Title banner, produced for RAW by Layton and Dimitri Doganis, with Derrin Schlesinger and Shane Salerno as additional producers and Joely Fether as executive producer for RAW.

The novella garnered early praise for its breakneck pace and expert psychological character work. This is just one more huge step into the seedy world of ultra-dramatic crime for Ruffalo; he's previously in HBO's "Task," as well as in the Bong Joon Ho sci-fi film "Mickey 17," which landed him across from Robert Pattinson.

Ruffalo, an Oscar nominee as lead actor in one of Yorgos Lanthimos' "Poor Things," has previously worked with Hemsworth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing Bruce Banner. The movie is to be directed by Bart Layton. Bart is primarily known for his critically acclaimed motion picture of 2018, "American Animals," starring Evan Peters, Barry Keoghan, and Ann Dowd.

It's reputed and expected that this will further enhance the new layer of vision in "Crime 101" with a blend of action intensity and psychological depth. This much-expected team-up between Ruffalo and Hemsworth on a project as assured of success as "Crime 101" is surely one their fans anticipate with bated breath, as do the readers of Winslow.
