Kevin Costner has embraced a fresh, distinguished look! On May 17, the 69-year-old actor and two-time Oscar winner were seen sporting a grey moustache for the first time at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Costner attended the prestigious event in the South of France to promote his upcoming film, Horizon: An American Saga, which premieres on May 19.

Costner looked dapper in classic black pants paired with a black suit jacket and a white collared button-down shirt. Adding to his sophisticated appearance, he wore a sleek black and silver watch while posing for photos at a Chopard event.

The new mustache marks a departure from Costner's clean-shaven portrayal of John Dutton in the popular Western drama series Yellowstone, which he joined in 2018. However, Costner's future on the show remains uncertain amid ongoing tensions.

In a candid interview with Deadline published on May 14, Costner addressed the speculation surrounding his role in Yellowstone. "I don’t want to get down in the gutter with the Yellowstone thing but what I’m telling you is straight up,” he stated.

I have taken a beating from those f---ing guys and I know a lot of times where it’s coming from. I just elected not to get into that."

Yellowstone Commitment Drama

Costner emphasized his commitment to the series, saying, "I made *Yellowstone* the first priority, and to insinuate anything else would be wrong." The actor hinted that part of the drama with the Paramount Network show might stem from his involvement in filming *Horizon* during the same period.

He revealed that he had left the set of Horizon to film what he believed would be the second half of Yellowstone's fifth season. "I said, ‘Well, look, I’m doing my movie. If you want me to work a week because you want to kill me or whatever else, I can give you a week,'" Costner explained.

"I really didn’t have that week to give them, but I said, I’ll do that. And then they [spun that] into, I only wanted to work a week." Horizon: An American Saga is a Western epic that "chronicles a multi-faceted, 15-year span of pre-and post-Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West," according to its synopsis.

Costner not only stars in the film but also produced it through his Territory Pictures and co-wrote it with Jon Baird. Fans can look forward to *Horizon: An American Saga* hitting theaters in two chapters: Chapter 1 on June 28 and Chapter 2 on August 16.
