Chris Pratt has expressed his profound sorrow following the death of his friend and stunt double, Antonio "Tony" McFarr, who passed away at the age of 47. McFarr, known for his work on "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" and two "Jurassic World" films, died unexpectedly at his home near Orlando, Florida, on May 13.

The tragic news was confirmed by McFarr's mother to TMZ on May 16. She described her son's death as "unexpected and shocking," emphasizing that he had been "healthy and active." The sudden loss has left family, friends, and colleagues in deep grief.

Pratt, 44, took to Instagram to pay tribute to McFarr, sharing several photos of their time on film sets. The actor, who is also a father, expressed his heartfelt condolences, particularly for McFarr's daughter. "Devastated to hear about the loss of my friend and former stunt double," Pratt wrote.

"We did several movies together. We golfed, drank whiskey, smoked cigars, and spent endless hours on set. I’ll never forget his toughness." Pratt recounted a specific incident that highlighted McFarr's resilience and dedication.

"I remember he took a nasty shot to the head during the title sequence of 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.' He got several staples in his head but came right back to work, ready to go again. He was an absolute stud. He was always a gentleman and professional."

Enduring Partnership Remembered

McFarr's professional journey with Pratt began in 2015 when he was hired as Pratt's stunt double for "Jurassic World." Their partnership extended through several films, including the 2016 sci-fi romance "Passengers," 2017's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.

2," and the 2018 sequel "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom." Their collaboration fostered a deep friendship and mutual respect. Pratt concluded his tribute with a poignant message: "He’ll be missed. My prayers go out to his friends and family, especially his daughter." The cause of McFarr's death remains undetermined.

According to Deadline, the Orange County Medical Examiner has conducted an autopsy, and the cause of death is pending toxicology results. McFarr's passing was also noted on the Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home website in Merritt Island, Florida, his hometown.

Pratt's Instagram has featured McFarr several times, showcasing their camaraderie. One notable post from 2016, after wrapping "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," included a heartfelt caption: "Here’s me and my stunt-man Tony McFarr (also Tommy Harper stunt coordinator and our first AD Lars Winther) on set. Been working with Tony since 'Jurassic World.' Love you buddy! Happy wrap!"
