The titanic figure of cinema, the father of them all, Robert De Niro will center on the first-ever De Niro Con this summer during the Tribeca Film Festival. June 14 to June 16, in the urban belly of New York City, this convention in his honor will have a host of special screenings, panels, and exhibits—all on tap with great care to celebrate his film legacy.

Since the De Niro Con would be at the same time, between June 5 and 16, the Tribeca Film Festival has great hopes. Esteemed directors, such as Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, and David O. Russell, and acting luminaries, such as Whoopi Goldberg, John Turturro, and Christopher Walken, will all fete De Niro.

Tribeca CEO Jane Rosenthal, who founded the post-9/11 festival with De Niro, was excited to be paying tribute to the actor: "I can't think of a better way to celebrate 80 years of Robert De Niro, my dear friend and co-conspirator for the past 35 years, than by throwing a big bash for his fellow New Yorkers".

Star-Studded Dialogues

It will also include live conversations with the actor, such as a chat with Billy Crystal following a screening of their Analyze This, a 1999 box office titan, with Goldberg moderating. Plus, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Scorsese's Mean Streets, the filmmaker behind the milestone crime drama reunites with De Niro for an on-stage discussion, moderated by rapper Nas.

Adding a touch of immersive fan engagement, the event will include interactive activations inspired by De Niro’s most beloved films. Fans can experience Max Cady’s prison tattoo parlor from Cape Fear, Travis Bickle’s bedroom from Taxi Driver, and even Jack Byrnes' infamous polygraph test from Meet The Parents.

A trivia night will challenge attendees to flaunt their knowledge of De Niro’s extensive filmography. Fresh from his Oscar-nominated role in Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, De Niro continues his vibrant acting career with upcoming roles in Tony Goldwyn’s Ezra, the Argentine drama Nada, and Barry Levinson's Alto Knights.

For those eager to partake in this cinematic celebration, tickets and further details about De Niro Con are available at tribecafilm.com/denirocon.
