Jamie Dornan, the award-winning Northern Irish actor valued for hits including "Fifty Shades of Grey" and "The Tourist," is celebrating his 42nd birthday today. Having made the transition from model to actor, Jamie first found success with campaigns for the likes of Calvin Klein and Dior, before making a splash in Hollywood.

Before his marriage, Dornan has been linked with many other super actresses of A-list, namely Keira Knightley, Sienna Miller, Lindsay Lohan, and Kate Moss. Dornan dated Keira Knightley from 2003 till 2005. He has expressed about dating her that it is devastating to go out with a girl with this much fame, and he then considers himself as a second-class celebrity.

But it was his meeting with Amelia Warner that really put him on a different course. They first met in 2010 at a mutual friend's party, and he was already smitten with love at first sight. The talented musician and award-winning composer stopped acting to turn into the composing of music for films such as "Wild Mountain Thyme.".

Jamie Dornan's Journey

Dornan and Warner instantly hit it off and were married in 2013. They now have three daughters and are based in a 1.75 million pound Cotswolds farm house. Dornan often says he idolised Warner even before he met her, once confessing on a chat show how a friend's tip-off regarding Warner's single status at a party prompted him to hotfoot it to where she was.

Their relationship has been a strong base for Dornan that he has been in need of and it has kept him away from the thoughtless speculations and rumors which follow every celebrity. Something that he values even more, especially as all the negativity on the internet is mostly thrown towards family and loved ones; this was one of the major reasons for him to take a step back from social media.

In his professional life, he prefers talking about the wonderful working relationship and friendship he shares with Dakota Johnson, his co-star in "Fifty Shades" series. He further elaborated that both of them felt at ease with each other which led to their success, and that for such a role where co-stars would have to be intimate with each other on the screen, the intimacy was very important.

Jamie Dornan's career, from a model to a respected actor, combined with his full personal life, proves that he has derived inspiration and provided it, which could explain his wide appeal and necessity for the industry.
