According to Puck, Elon Musk and venture capitalist David Sacks recently hosted a politically charged dinner in Hollywood Hills, shedding light on their growing influence in the political sphere. The exclusive event, held at Sacks' lavish $23 million estate, was attended by prominent figures, including Republican donor Peter Thiel, former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, and Steven Mnuchin, a former treasury secretary under Donald Trump.

The gathering was characterized by a mutual distrust among the billionaires towards Democratic politicians, notably President Joe Biden. The discussions reportedly revolved around strategies for supporting Republican candidates and addressing concerns over America's immigration policies.

Musk, in particular, has been vocal about his disapproval of Biden's handling of immigration, a stance he believes contributed to Biden's presidential victory, as reported by the Houston Chronicle. While Musk has not officially endorsed any candidate for the upcoming election, his political contributions and public statements suggest a shift towards Republican support.

According to OpenSecrets, Musk has donated approximately $688,350 to federal candidates and party committees from 2004 to 2020, with just over half supporting Republican causes.

Musk's Political Dilemma

The dinner, which was not explicitly pro-Trump, still highlighted Musk's inclination to support Trump or openly criticize Biden shortly potentially.

His political leanings were further evidenced in a 2022 tweet where Musk expressed disenchantment with the Democratic Party, citing it as a party of "division and hate," leading him to endorse Republican candidates. Despite his political contributions, Musk wanted to remain somewhat neutral regarding financial influence, focusing instead on voicing his opinions publicly.

His interactions with political figures, including a notable meeting with Trump in Florida and comments made in an interview with former CNN anchor Don Lemon, underscore his complex relationship with both major political parties.

As this billionaire's dinner underscores, Musk's role as a political influencer is becoming increasingly significant, mirroring his substantial impact in the tech and business sectors. His next moves could be pivotal in shaping political discourse and alignments in the upcoming election cycle.

Representatives for Musk, Sacks, and other attendees have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the specifics of the dinner's political discussions.
