Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb has revealed just how gruelling the recent London Marathon was for him, and was praised by colleagues. The famous ITV soap actor, known by millions of viewers as Mackenzie Boyd, took to social media to update his followers on the grueling effort.

In an honest Instagram post, Robb shared the reason he ran in the April 21 marathon which drew record crowds. The actor announced in February he'd be running on behalf of Samaritans, a charity dedicated to helping people in emotional distress or people at risk of suicide.

"I'm running because it's a wonderful cause. He said, "I want to raise as much money as possible to let the people realize that they are not alone.". The decision was definitely not made with ease. Robb humorously put it across in a video featured with his dog, "I have decided to run the London marathon because I'm crazy." He had been updating his audience regularly on the progress of his training.

Robb documented his experience, which he went through during the marathon, capturing the physical and emotional toll.

Robb's Marathon Triumph

Light-hearted video that he posted at the starting line joked, "My girlfriend said she would break up with me if I ever ran another marathon.

I'm here to find out why." At one point, as he continued to realize the enormity of the challenge, he even called out for help, and the appearance of his girlfriend and dog cheering from the sidelines had him close to tears.

The tiring Robb posted a video upon finishing the race that can be captioned hilariously with the words, "I think it's fair to say that I definitely know why. I'm never doing that again!" Then he is shown home later with the effects of the marathon still gripping him, humorously trying to walk around.

Robb was soon flooded with well wishes from his Emmerdale co-stars with Rosie Bentham heard summing him up by simply saying he was a "Champ", while Daisy Campbell and Kevin Mathurin congratulated him for the glorious feat.

Also congratulating him were Paula Lane and former co-star Alexander Lincoln, with theatre star Lucie Jones commenting "Congratulations darling friend!" Robb ended his post by thanking everyone for their support, saying that it means more than he can express: "Thank you to all the support.

You have no idea how much you helped! Unreal!" Even though his experience was grueling, it brought the awareness and funds needed for an important cause to be recognized while also showing his dedication and resilience, which every fan and co-star highly admired.
