Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are at a very critical stage in their PR journey, where they have to rebrand themselves and reconnect more with the UK audience after a very huge decline in their popularity. As a recent YouGov poll highlighted, the couple had an uphill task: 68% of respondents had an unfavorable opinion of Meghan Markle, an all-time low for her public approval ratings.

Since stepping down from senior royal duties last year and making a new home in Montecito, California, the couple has continued with their efforts to position themselves as far outside the royal orbit as possible. Their comments over royal life, however, have always landed them in a controversy, and media followed.

Over a year since Harry's tell-it-all book "Spare" came out, public relations experts are advising it could be a well-strategized time for the couple to redefine their brand. Lynn Carratt, Senior PR Strategist at Press Box PR, exclusively told The Mirror how a return for the couple may be possible and outlined the possible way forward.

Carratt further advises that the Duke and Duchess would do a lot better if they were much more transparent about their personal struggles. Thereby, they would build a stronger relationship with the public, as they would be opening up about the daily struggles of working parents and daily hurdles that are common to every individual, hence making the polished public personas more accessible and relatable.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry' Strategic Rebrand

As Carratt highlights, Meghan could have an elevated public profile as long as she was less determined to talk about royal connections and more about the television productions of herself and Harry.

Their new production evidently sees the couple focus more on their passions and not so much on their royal background. Further, in the course of brand transformation, there shall be strategic public appearances and partnered brands and charities that are indispensable.

Building bridges with the Royal Family could play a vital role in mending their public image. That means, as they chart their course forward, hiring a experienced PR advisor who knows the media landscapes in the UK and the USA could prove key.

"This counsel could well see to it that what was drafted is being presented as attractive and effectively communicating to restore its standing in the eyes of the British public on both sides of the Atlantic. With the book now on shelves, Netflix has in turn released the movie.

Harry and Meghan, meanwhile, will in coming months be the busy public appearance-making and new commercial opportunity-seeking to rebuild their brand and reinstate themselves in the public eye.
