Neve Campbell, renowned for her portrayal of Sidney Prescott in the Scream series, has announced her return to the iconic horror franchise. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the 50-year-old actress shared a snapshot of a script, accompanied by the caption, "I’m so excited to announce this news!!!

Sidney Prescott is coming back!!!!" Expressing her enduring gratitude for the opportunity, Campbell emphasized the privilege of embodying Sidney across the Scream movies. She conveyed her elation at being invited to reprise the role, underscoring the profound personal significance the franchise holds for her.

Directorial Return to Roots

Campbell confirmed that Kevin Williamson, the acclaimed writer behind the original 1996 Scream film, as well as Scream 2 and Scream 4, will direct the upcoming seventh installment. Williamson, recognized for his directorial debut in 1999 with "Teaching Mrs.

Tingle," represents a return to the franchise's roots, much to the delight of fans.
