In an exciting update from the world of streaming and television, Netflix's eagerly anticipated western drama "The Abandons," masterminded by Kurt Sutter, is expanding its star-studded lineup with the addition of six talented actors, as confirmed by Variety.

This fresh infusion of talent includes Nick Robinson, known for his roles in "Maid" and "A Teacher"; Diana Silvers, who made her mark in "Booksmart" and "Space Force"; Lucas Till, familiar to audiences from the "X-Men" films and "MacGyver"; Lamar Johnson from "The Last of Us" and "Brother"; Aisling Franciosi of "The Nightingale" and "God's Creatures" fame; and Natalia del Riego, noted for her work in "Hail Mary" and "Promised Land." These newcomers are set to share the screen with the previously announced leads, Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson, in a narrative that promises to blend historical drama with thrilling action.

"The Abandons" is set in the 1850s Oregon, where a group of diverse, outlier families are driven by the ideal of Manifest Destiny. However, their pursuit of a new beginning is threatened by a corrupt force of wealth and power, eager to seize their land.

Facing eviction and erasure, these so-called abandoned souls—marginalized individuals living on the fringes of society—come together to forge a united front. In their struggle for survival, they redefine the concept of justice, pushing its boundaries beyond the confines of the law.

Stellar Cast Revealed

In this gritty narrative, Headey takes on the role of Fiona Nolan, with Anderson portraying Constance Van Ness. Robinson steps into the shoes of Elias Teller, with Silvers as Dahlia Teller. Till brings to life Garret Van Ness, Franciosi embodies Trisha Van Ness, Johnson is cast as Albert Mason, and del Riego plays Lilla Belle.

Netflix has greenlit "The Abandons" for a 10-episode inaugural season, entrusting Kurt Sutter with the roles of showrunner and executive producer through his SutterInk production company. The series also boasts a talented production team including Emmy Grinwis and Jon Paré as executive producers.

Directing duties are shared between Stephen Surjik, who will also serve as an executive producer, and Otto Bathurst, who is set to direct the pilot episode in addition to his executive production responsibilities. As anticipation builds for this bold foray into the untamed landscapes of 1850s Oregon, "The Abandons" promises to be a compelling addition to Netflix's roster of original content, offering viewers a mix of drama, action, and historical intrigue.
