Hollywood is buzzing with anticipation as dynamic duo Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney gear up for their next cinematic collaboration. The stars, who previously charmed audiences in the romantic comedy "Anyone But You," are actively scouting for their next joint venture, Powell revealed in a candid conversation with 'Variety' before the 2024 SAG Awards.

At the prestigious event, Powell, 35, shared his enthusiasm about working again with Sweeney, 26. Their chemistry in "Anyone But You" not only captivated viewers but also translated into box office success. Released in December, the film initially opened to modest figures but soon skyrocketed, ultimately grossing a remarkable $191.2 million worldwide.

Powell, known for his role in "Top Gun: Maverick," expressed admiration for Sweeney's professionalism and pace, particularly when it comes to reviewing potential scripts. "Sydney reads everything, by the way, and in record time.

She’s the fastest reader I think I’ve ever met. It takes me a little longer, but we’re reading everything and just trying to see what makes sense, what we can turn into something that audiences are going to respond to,” he said.

Anticipating Powell-Sweeney Reunion

The pair's on-screen rapport in "Anyone But You," where they played adversaries who eventually fall in love at a wedding, has left fans eager for more. Their recent appearance at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, where they performed Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten" alongside the singer herself, only fueled this anticipation.

The song features prominently in "Anyone But You," further solidifying the connection between the artists and the film. While Powell and Sweeney continue their search for the perfect script, Powell is not resting on his laurels.

He is currently involved in promoting two major projects set for release soon - "Hit Man," which will start streaming on Netflix in June, and "Twisters," a spiritual sequel to 1996's "Twister," set for a July release. He spoke highly of his experience working on "Twisters," particularly his chemistry with co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones.

With Powell and Sweeney's track record of turning projects into gold, the film industry and audiences alike await with bated breath to see what magic these two will create next. Their collaboration signifies not just a partnership of talent but a promise of cinematic delight.
