TV veteran Ben Shephard is opening up about his big move earlier in the year from "Good Morning Britain" to "This Morning," a career change that has caught the attention of daytime TV viewers. Shephard’s move was just as big as one would expect of a move within major shows in the industry.

Ten years since his time on "Good Morning Britain," Shephard will be returning as one of the main presenters alongside Cat Deeley on "This Morning." The change comes after Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby's exit last year.

The pair is to host the ITV flagship show every Monday to Thursday on a permanent basis. The statement stated, "'This wasn’t an easy choice,' he said, as he candidly revealed the complexities behind his career shift.

Reflecting on his new role, he expressed excitement about the people he will be working with, including Deeley and the production team, saying, "The people make the show." He said, stressing the importance of his colleagues in his decision.

Transition Reflections: Late Mornings, Deep Gratitude

Shephard also joked about that part of it, saying, "Not having to get up so early and being able to have a lie-in is quite high up there." But beyond the lighter aspects, he talked of his deep appreciation for the years spent on GMB.

"Hosting Good Morning Britain for the past ten years has been an incredible journey," he remarked. Speaking about his exit, he kindly said that he would miss his GMB co-presenter, Kate Garraway, with whom he had spent almost two decades working.

He even admired her resistance as he said, "I have learned so much of your resilience." He also said, "Our mornings together will always be an experience I treasure. Garraway has wished Shephard good luck and congratulated him on the new endeavour.

Shephard said, "It is such a bittersweet feeling but I am looking to what the future holds." It will be a key moment in the history of daytime TV with the arrival of Shephard, who carries along a huge amount of experience and charisma on his shoulders.

The exit from GMB and a new role truly indicate that he is a complete package of flexibility and class, and that makes him the all-time popular host for any TV show.
