Dakota Johnson, the star of the newly released "Madame Web," has openly shared that she hasn't watched her latest film, a revelation that's sparked a flurry of speculation online. In a recent interview with Magic FM that's gaining traction on social media, Johnson addressed why she chooses to steer clear of viewing her own movies, a decision some have misinterpreted as a lack of interest.

Known for her effortlessly cool demeanor in interviews, Johnson explains that avoiding her films is more about self-preservation than disinterest. "It's essentially a form of self-care for me," Johnson remarked during her chat with Magic FM.

"Steering clear of my own films helps me avoid an existential crisis." She went on to describe her routine during movie premieres, which involves walking the red carpet before slipping away for dinner, instead of sitting through the film.

Madame Web's Uncertain Future

"Madame Web," which draws inspiration from a Marvel Comics character, casts Johnson as Cassie Webb, a New York paramedic who gains psychic powers after a life-threatening incident. Tasked with protecting three young girls from the antagonist, Ezekiel Sims, portrayed by Tahar Rahim, Cassie becomes a sort of guardian angel.

Off-screen, Johnson has formed a close bond with her co-stars Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, and Celeste O’Connor, earning the affectionate title of "big sister," despite the playful jabs about their age differences.

Despite the camaraderie among the cast, "Madame Web" faces an uphill battle at the box office, with a modest opening of just over $6 million and a critical reception that's less than stellar, reflected in its 14% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The film's future, particularly the potential for a sequel, remains uncertain. Yet, Johnson's commitment to her role and the franchise remains unwavering. In conversations with GamesRadar+ and the Inside Total Film podcast, she expressed her willingness to return to the character should the opportunity arise, underscoring her dedication to her craft and the Marvel universe she's stepped into.
