Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has told ABC News in an exclusive interview of his most recent emotional journey since his father was diagnosed with cancer. The Duke's reply to this news was an instant one upon being informed, and it demonstrated how much family bonds mean to him and how grateful he was to have been able to sustain his dear ones.

Southern California royal made headlines quickly about the way he acted when he found out his father was in a health crisis. "I jumped on a plane and went to see him as soon as I could," Prince Harry said in the Friday morning segment on Good Morning America.

His spontaneous trans-Atlantic trip underscored his strength of feeling for his family, he said, despite the past tensions. "I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go see and spend any time with him, I'm grateful for that," he said.

The announcement that King Charles has been diagnosed was made from Buckingham Palace on February 5. The next day, the Duke was spotted at Heathrow Airport in London as he came from Los Angeles. He quickly went to the royal residence, Clarence House, for a 45-minute meeting with his father.

Apart from confirming that the King's condition was diagnosed during a normal prostate examination and not to have been prostate cancer, the Palace has kept quiet about the details of the health condition. This news comes just 18 months after King Charles ascended to the throne following Queen Elizabeth II's passing.
