Travis Kelce, the three-time Super Bowl champion of the Kansas City Chiefs for his on-field exploits, is now set to reveal the other side of his life as he heads to Hollywood as a film producer. According to a report from Variety, Kelce is going to make his debut as an executive producer in the upcoming independent film, "My Dead Friend Zoe," to leverage support from President Joe Biden's renewable energy tax credits.

This movie is a dark comedy film, produced for less than $10 million, and features Sonequa Martin-Green, Natalie Morales, Ed Harris, and Morgan Freeman. It was scripted by Kyle Hausmann-Stokes and A.J. Bermudez sets the war drama to premiere in March, inspired by Hausmann-Stokes' short film "Merit x Zoe." Steps into filmmaking by Kelce certainly stand out, given that "My Dead Friend Zoe" is her debut project as a producer fully utilising the benefits provided under the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act for film financing.

It's an enormous bet on climate and energy - a centerpiece of a legislative initiative being pushed by the Biden administration, to drive America to a net-zero economy by 2050.

Green Energy Backers Support Kelce's Films

Kelce is joined in the effort by leaders in the green energy field already backing the project financially, like co-owners Mike Field and Ray Maiello of Radiant Media Studios in California.

Maiello said that federal tax credits are a crucial way to cope with the risks that are endemic to independent film projects and that the Biden administration was key in encouraging that kind of activity. Other than "My Dead Friend Zoe," Kelce has now also been shooting another movie with Maiello and Field - an untitled documentary film on the life of iconic artist Jean-Michel Basqujsonly titled "King Pleasure." Kelce's debut into the entertainment space should come as no surprise, given his prior endeavors, such as the reality dating series "Catching Kelce," as well as the popular podcast "New Heights," which he co-hosts alongside his brother Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles.

With Kelce's rising star, in part thanks to his celebrity relationship with Taylor Swift, his venture into film production is poised to be an interesting crossroads of sports and entertainment - with takeaways possibly garnished from Swift's successful foray into film.
