In a significant turn of events, Nashville's District Attorney, Glenn Funk, announced the dismissal of all charges against country music star Chris Young, stemming from an arrest earlier this week at a local bar. This decision, revealed in a statement on Friday, follows a thorough examination of the evidence related to the incident at the DawgHouse Saloon.

The 38-year-old singer faced allegations of disorderly conduct, assaulting an officer, and resisting arrest after an incident on Monday night. Young's arrest, which initially required him to post bonds totaling $2,500, occurred amidst an altercation that reportedly began at the Tin Roof bar and continued to the DawgHouse Saloon.

As obtained by PEOPLE, an arrest affidavit detailed the sequence of events leading up to the confrontation. Young and his entourage allegedly trailed Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) agents from the Tin Roof to the DawgHouse.

While filming the agents during a compliance check, the affidavit notes that Young supposedly struck one on the shoulder, leading to a heated exchange.

Young's Exoneration Confirmed

PEOPLE also acquired exclusive video footage which seemingly contradicts parts of the initial report.

This video depicts Young reaching out to a TABC agent who shoves him, causing the country star to stumble over a table and chair. The footage shows Young standing up, raising his hands non-threateningly, and moving away from the agent.

Young's attorney, Bill Ramsey strongly condemned the arrest in a statement to PEOPLE. He argued that the charges should be dropped and an apology issued, citing the "physical, emotional, and professional harm" caused to Young.

With the charges now dismissed, Ramsey expressed relief and satisfaction at the DA's decision to clear Young of wrongdoing. This development comes just ahead of Young's much-anticipated album release, "Young Love & Saturday Nights," scheduled for March 22.

This incident highlights the ongoing scrutiny of law enforcement interactions with celebrities and the impact of video evidence in such cases. Young's experience underscores the complexities of nightlife altercations and the swift evolution of events from confrontation to legal entanglement and eventual dismissal.
