The CMA Awards of 2023 have unfurled their banners high, welcoming the creme de la creme of country music to the heart of Nashville, where the tunes of victory resonate as clear as the strings of a well-tuned guitar. As anticipation bubbles in the November air, the Bridgestone Arena becomes a constellation of stars, with Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning at the helm, guiding the night of November 8th with wit and charm.

Early CMA Victories

Before the limelight of live performances by Kelsea Ballerini, Post Malone, and Chris Stapleton, and the coveted red carpet strides, "Good Morning America" teased the audience with a reveal of early winners.

It was a victorious start for Lainey Wilson and HARDY, seizing the title for Musical Event of the Year, setting the stage for an evening of accolades and applause. Dominating the nominee board, Wilson carries nine nominations, a testament to her soaring popularity and talent.

Alongside her, the likes of Luke Combs, HARDY, and Jelly Roll make their marks as both nominees and testament to the genre's evolving soundscape. Notably, Tracy Chapman's timeless "Fast Car" catches a fresh wind of success, thanks to Combs' chart-topping cover, proving the enduring power of a classic.

As the night unfolds, Old Dominion emerges as the Vocal Group of the Year, while the Brothers Osborne cement their legacy as the Vocal Duo of the Year. The awards, however, are not just about the veterans but also about the fresh blood, with Jelly Roll, Parker McCollum, and Megan Moroney among the contenders for New Artist of the Year.

The singles' spotlight shone on Luke Combs, who, with his rendition of "Fast Car," not only won Single of the Year but also shared the Song of the Year honor with the song's original artist, Tracy Chapman. The power of storytelling through music videos was recognized with HARDY's "wait in the truck," featuring Lainey Wilson, directed by Justin Clough, grabbing the Music Video of the Year title.

With the strings and strums of the industry's best, Jenee Fleenor clinched the title of Musician of the Year, a nod to the talent that often whirls behind the scenes. And as for the Musical Event of the Year, it was yet again the collaboration between HARDY and Wilson on "wait in the truck" that took home the glory, marking a night of triumph for the duo.
