Kyle Richards, the esteemed star of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," has recently opened up about her experiences with the supernatural within her lavish $8 million mansion in Encino, California. During a captivating Halloween special on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Richards shared her belief that her residence, with its rich history and previous celebrity ownership, might be haunted.
Host Kelly Clarkson, intrigued by the topic of paranormal activities, inquired about Richards' belief in ghosts and supernatural events. The TV personality responded invitingly, “Oh, come over to my house," indicating her readiness to share her eerie experiences.
Richards detailed how the unexplainable occurrences became more frequent following the demise of her mother, Kathleen Richards, in 2002. She described instances of lights turning on by themselves, even when not plugged in, and the mysterious sound of footsteps echoing through the mansion.
Smokey's Ghostly Affirmation
Richards further revealed that the mansion, originally constructed in 1882 and later transported by trolley in 1912, was once owned by the legendary musician Smokey Robinson. Robinson himself, during an Oscars celebration earlier this year, affirmed the spooky happenings within the mansion’s walls.
Recounting her conversation with Robinson, Richards shared, "He said, ‘Oh, have you heard the footsteps yet?'" This revelation, while initially unsettling, was somewhat comforting to Richards, as it validated her experiences.
She admitted that despite the ghostly happenings, the presence in her home felt safe and benevolent, describing it as a “good spirit”. Richards, along with her now ex-husband Mauricio Umansky, acquired this extensive property back in 2017.
The grand estate spans 10,600 square feet, housing seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, a true testament to its opulence and historical significance. This revelation by Richards adds a layer of mystique to the already fascinating world of celebrity real estate, captivating the audience’s imagination and perhaps leaving them wondering about the hidden histories of other lavish celebrity homes.
