The billionaire tech titan, Elon Musk, and renowned Canadian musician, Grimes, are currently locked in a legal dispute over the custody of their three offspring. But as recent developments unfold, it appears there's more to the story than what initially meets the eye.
Yesterday, as reports about Grimes seeking legal action against Musk for parental rights gained traction, an exclusive report from Insider uncovered a twist: Elon Musk had already made a legal move against Grimes almost a month earlier.
Dated September 13th, the legal documents unveil that Musk, 52, took the first step by suing Grimes for the custody of their children. Contrary to popular belief, Grimes' lawsuit was a countersuit that followed nearly a month later.
In his lawsuit, the SpaceX visionary claimed to have been the primary caregiver for all their children since birth, emphasizing his permanent residency in Texas. Musk hoped for a smooth resolution but, anticipating complexities, sought the judgment of Texas courts.
Grimes Counters Amidst Relocation Claims
Musk's allegations took a deeper dive as he accused Grimes, 35, of relocating to California to deliberately bypass the jurisdiction of the Texan courts. This move brought to light that the pair, whose relationship has often been under media scrutiny, resided together in Texas with their children from May through July of the current year.
Grimes, also known for her hit "Genesis," retaliated on September 29th with her lawsuit, which included a standard restraining order. This mandate seeks to prevent the relocation of their children outside her residing state of California.
In a previously deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), Grimes had hinted at discord, accusing Musk of withholding their children from her. She passionately reached out to Musk's biographer, Walter Isaacson, with the plea, "Tell Elon to let me see my son or plz [sic] respond to my lawyer.”
Isaacson's biography on Musk, aptly titled "Musk," dropped another bombshell: the couple covertly welcomed a third child named Techno Mechanicus. This revelation adds to their known family of son X AE A–Xii, aged 3, and daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, aged 2.
