Kutcher's Critical Trial Testimony

Ashton Kutcher played a crucial role as a witness in the trial against Michael Gargiulo, the convicted murderer of Ashley Ellerin.

He testified that he had arranged a date with Ellerin for that evening and attempted to reach her via phone twice, receiving no response. Upon arriving at her residence, Kutcher glanced through a window and noticed what he believed to be a wine stain on her carpet.

Deputy District Attorney Dan Akemon commented, "At that point, he believed he had been stood up. Now, we believe the evidence will establish that it was, in fact, blood, and Ashley had already met her tragic fate."
