Meghan Moves on from Royal Rift, Focuses on Life with Harry: Report

Meghan Markle, once outspoken and critical of the royal family, has reportedly taken a more conciliatory approach towards her in-laws, particularly in light of the toll the familial rift has taken on her husband, Prince Harry.

A source close to the couple told People that while the situation with King Charles III and Prince William continues to be "very difficult for Harry," Meghan has shifted her stance. "She used to be negative about it. It seems she has kind of moved on now," the insider revealed.

The source continued to describe Markle's current approach towards Harry's family as "much softer."

Royal Rift Deepens

This marked change comes after a turbulent period that saw the couple relinquish their senior roles within the royal family in January 2020.

They relocated to a celebrity-filled town by summer, far removed from their previous life. The relationship between the Sussexes and the royal family plummeted further after Markle's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, where she made shocking allegations, including racism within the family and a lack of support for her mental well-being.

However, the rift between Harry and other family members, namely William and Charles, can be traced back to 2018, further strained by the release of Harry's controversial memoir, "Spare," in January. Despite this storied conflict, the focus of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appears to have shifted towards family life with their children, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2.

"They just want to focus on their kids and their life in Montecito," another source told People, emphasizing their desire to provide as normal a life as possible for their children. Meghan has actively involved herself in her children's school and social lives, and the insider described their upbringing as "very play-based," including play areas and climbing gyms on their property.

Local interactions reveal Markle to be unpretentious and approachable. A friend of the family further shared insights into the couple's preference for low-key gatherings, such as small group hangouts and karaoke. While the couple's marriage was recently rumored to be in trouble, insiders firmly dismissed the claims as fabricated.

They continue to present a united front, evident in their latest video release on their Archewell website. In all, the narrative that emerges is one of transformation and adaptation. Meghan and Harry, once embroiled in royal controversies, seem to have turned their attention to forging a new path that prioritizes family and personal growth.

The seeming serenity of their current life stands in marked contrast to the turmoil of the past, reflecting a matured approach to navigating the complex interplay between their public roles and private lives.
