Prince William Serves Surprise Burgers at Food Truck

In a delightful surprise for unsuspecting customers, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, served up burgers from a food truck. This unusual event was part of a collaboration with the Sorted Food YouTube Channel, aimed at promoting The Earthshot Prize, a climate change initiative championed by the Prince himself.

The Earthshot Prize is a prestigious recognition that awards a one-million-pound prize to those innovating ways "to find and grow the solutions that will repair our planet this decade," according to the initiative's official website.

The Prince's engaging video appearance was a testament to his continued commitment to environmental causes.

Prince's Humorous Reflection on Initiative

In the video, the 41-year-old Prince jovially reflected on his four-year-long involvement with the initiative, remarking with humor, "I had hair when it started." The royal's lighthearted engagement was just one aspect of a broader mission to address climate change and its global impact.

Further demonstrating his commitment to this cause, Prince William introduced the Sorted Food team to the products from three of the previous year's Earthshot winners. These included greenhouse vegetables from Kheyti’s Greenhouse-in-a-box, a stove from Mukuru Clean Stoves, and biodegradable take-out boxes from Notpla.

Each of these innovative solutions corresponded with the Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, and Build A Waste-Free World categories of the Earthshot Prize, respectively. With these ingredients and resources, the team prepared plant-based burgers, cooking them on the stove and serving them in the biodegradable boxes.

Prince William then took on the role of a food truck operator, astonishing customers by personally delivering their orders. Comments from customers ranged from disbelief to amusement, with one woman stating, "I was shell shocked.

Like, I froze," and another questioning their reality: "Am I dreaming? Have I had enough sleep?" As the Prince continued serving, he took the opportunity to explain the origin of the burgers and their connection to the Earthshot Prize, connecting the dots between everyday consumption and environmental sustainability.

Last year, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, journeyed to Boston for their first American visit in eight years to attend the Earthshot Prize ceremony, reflecting their ongoing support for global environmental initiatives. During their stay, the couple also enjoyed a Boston Celtics game, further endearing themselves to the local populace.
