Jeffrey Osborne Classic Boosts Local Nonprofits

After a hiatus prompted by the global pandemic, the much-anticipated Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic triumphantly returned to Rhode Island for 2023. The two-day extravaganza took place on Monday and Tuesday, serving as a platform for celebrities and philanthropists to converge and make a difference for local nonprofit organizations.

With golfing, auctions, and live performances on the agenda, the event did not disappoint its eager participants and spectators. This year, Kirkbrae Country Club and Bally’s Twin River Casino were the grand stages that hosted the Celebrity Classic.

As the sun cast its warm summer rays over the perfectly manicured greens of the Kirkbrae Country Club, celebrities from various spheres lined up for the charity golf tournament. The stakes were high, but so was the spirit of camaraderie, reminding everyone that the goal of the event was bigger than personal victories.

Celebrities Shine at Gala

Among the glittering roster were notable personalities like Smokey Robinson, Johnny Gill, Javier Colon, and Claudia Jordan. They played their part, not just on the golf course, but also by contributing to the live and silent auctions and joining the star-studded dinner gala.

It was at this gala where the event's namesake, Jeffrey Osborne, added his own brand of magic. Joined by his celebrity friends, Osborne filled the air with enchanting music, turning the night into a melody-filled celebration of philanthropy.

The emotions ran high as Osborne delivered his performance, leading his brother, Terrell Osborne, to express his sentiment. “Feels great to see Jeffrey bring so much joy and happiness to so many people through this event.

You could feel the love in the air,” he commented. Since its inception in 2012, the Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic has consistently demonstrated its commitment to supporting local communities. The event has managed to raise more than $1 million for local nonprofits, a testament to its lasting impact.

With the successful revival of the event this year, it's safe to say that Osborne's legacy of charitable contributions continues to brighten up countless lives. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the Classic stands as a beacon of resilience, fostering love, joy, and philanthropy for years to come.
