The Undertaker on the reasons why he retired

It has been almost three years since The Undertaker retired from professional wrestling. Many hoped that this legendary wrestler could continue his career and last even longer. In spite of this, The Undertaker realized that it was time to retire from professional wrestling since he was no longer in the same shape.

METRO recently conducted an interview with The Undertaker in which he revealed the reason for his career-ending. “In my heart, I wasn’t ready to do it but in my mind I knew I had to. It’s been a difficult transition because if I physically could, I would still be going.

But I can’t put on a match the way people expect to see The Undertaker wrestle. There’s no sense in tarnishing the legacy, or cashing in on the equity that I built up. My back is completely locked up, I’ve got pain shooting down my legs.

That’s when I knew I was done”.

The Undertaker knew he had to make a decision that would not please his fans. However, it was still the most logical and reasonable decision at that particular point in time.

“It was physical, we did some really big stunts, but I shouldn’t have felt the way that I did. It was just that moment of clarity”. A lot of people still hope and expect that The Undertaker will come back from retirement and reappear on the wrestling scene.

He began his wrestling career back in 1987, and there was a clear realization from the moment he stepped on the ring that he was a wrestler who has enormous abilities. It was in 1989 that he joined the WWE. As a result of his long career, he is remembered for a variety of things, and many still miss his presence in the ring.
