Rumer Willis Shocks the World with Her Unique Water-Breaking Experience

In the heart of Hollywood, a new star is born, bringing with her a fresh wave of joy and anticipation. Rumer Willis, the eldest daughter of iconic movie stars Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, welcomed her first child in April. Recently, Rumer shared the remarkable details of her birthing experience on the "Informed Pregnancy Podcast," hosted by chiropractor Elliott Berlin.

An Intimate Revelation

During the episode, Rumer recounted the intense moments leading up to the birth. The actress, who gave birth at home, shared that her labor was closely monitored by her midwife and Berlin. After a lengthy discussion, and despite her readiness, Rumer noted that her water had not broken naturally.

Her midwife suggested that Rumer might manually break her own water, a suggestion which initially shocked her. "She was checking me and felt my water bag bulging, but still not popping, which was wild," Rumer shared. "And so, I was like, 'Well, should we break it?'" In response, her midwife's affirmative response led Rumer to question, "'Are you serious?'"

A Shocking Experience

Without further ado, Rumer took the initiative and successfully broke her water.

Describing the moment, she said, "I reached my finger up there, and I'm feeling and it was crazy. I could totally feel this little bag — it feels like a water balloon, but with a bit tougher skin." According to her, she was advised to push on the bag during her next contraction.

The experience left her in shock, as she realized the stark difference between the sensation of the water bag pushing against her cervix and that of her baby's head. "'She just said, 'Okay. On the next contraction, just push against it with your finger,' and I popped it.

I think there's a photo of me and I just have this look of shock and surprise on my face. Because it's a different sensation when the water bag is pushing against your cervix to when the baby's head is.' "

Welcoming Baby Louetta Isley Thomas Willis

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore found themselves bestowed with the joyous titles of grandparents on April 18, thanks to Rumer.

She gave birth to a baby girl, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis, delighting the family with their newest member. Louetta is also the first child of Rumer's partner, Derek Richard Thomas, whom she has been romantically involved with since the beginning of 2022.
