At 85 years of age, Jane Fonda, the renowned actress, and activist, has more work than ever and claims this period of her life to be the happiest. Despite undergoing chemotherapy for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma last year, she speaks openly about aging being something to be celebrated rather than feared.

Her recent interview with People magazine delves into her friendships, her passion for work, and her unwavering resilience.

The Power of Female Friendship

"It's everything I imagined women's friendships can be," Fonda says.

"When I was younger, there was this assumption that women were kind of catty and four stars working together wouldn't work because they'd be competing, and it's just not true. We're friends and we love working together and we help each other when we need to." Fonda's outlook on women's relationships and their ability to work together is a testament to the power of female friendship.

Her words challenge the notion that women are inherently catty and encourages women to support each other in their personal and professional lives.

A Force of Nature

"There's been tragedy and hard things in my life. But I've never succumbed to them.

I've been resilient all my life," Fonda says. Book Club: The Next Chapter director Bill Holderman describes Fonda as "a force," pointing to one morning in Italy when most of the cast and crew were still asleep on their day off except for Fonda, who was up at 6:00 a.m.

exploring the city on her own. "She came back and said, 'I just got 11,000 steps!' She's a sponge for information. By the end of filming, Jane probably knew more about the gelato shops in Rome than the Romans," says Holderman.

Fonda's resilience and zest for life are not only inspiring but also a reflection of her inner strength and unwavering spirit. She continues to be a force to be reckoned with, both on and off-screen. Jane Fonda's journey through the decades is a testament to the power of resilience, female friendship, and the unwavering spirit of a true force of nature.

As she continues to star in films, including the upcoming comedy "Book Club: The Next Chapter," she remains a source of inspiration for people of all ages and walks of life.
