Aaron Carter's Former Fiancée Refuses to Accept Autopsy Results

It has been over six months since the music world was shaken by the sudden passing of Aaron Carter, a talented singer and brother of Nick Carter from the legendary boy band, Backstreet Boys. The 34-year-old artist died in November 2022, leaving fans and loved ones in mourning.

Now, the cause of his death has finally been revealed in an official death certificate.

Cause of Death: Accidental Overdose

According to the death certificate obtained by the BBC, Aaron Carter died from accidental drowning after consuming sedatives.

The autopsy determined that the singer had taken alprazolam, commonly known as Xanax, and inhaled difluoroethane, a gas that can produce a feeling of euphoria. Despite the official ruling of accidental death, Carter's fiancée, Melanie Martin, is not satisfied with the results.

"The results of the autopsy are not closure for me," Martin stated in a statement to TMZ. "It claims death is by drowning but also adds he was wearing a t-shirt and necklace in the bathtub which doesn’t make sense, why would he be in a bathtub with clothes on? I am still in shock and still miss Aaron every day.

I don’t understand the chain of events and this report only has us asking more questions."

Remembering a Legend

Aaron Carter rose to fame as a young star, touring with the Backstreet Boys and releasing four successful albums that sold millions of copies.

He collaborated with Britney Spears on her legendary "Oops!.. I Did It Again" tour and went on to transition to rap and perform in musicals and hit TV shows like "Dancing With The Stars." Despite his numerous challenges, including repeated rehab stints, bankruptcy, and legal trouble, Carter never lost his passion for music.

In recent years, Carter turned his life around and welcomed a son, Prince, with Martin. The couple was deeply devoted to each other and their child, and Martin continues to honor Carter's memory with emotional tributes on social media.

On Prince's first birthday, she wrote, "Happy birthday to my baby boy Prince Lyric Carter. Today is going to be a tough one for me but I know your daddy is playing birthday songs for you up in heaven I love you baby boy!!!”
