San Francisco drag performer Heklina was found dead at her home in London. This news was relayed by her friend, Joshua Grannell, who is still in shock and disbelief. “I am shocked and horrified to bring this news to you,” - he wrote on social media.
"I know this is shocking news and I am beyond stunned, but I wanted to let folks know what has happened. Heklina is not just my best friend, but a beloved icon of our community. I am a mess." As a result of everything that happened, the Soho Theater expressed its shock on social media.
They also expressed their condolences to the family and friends who are in difficult times. “Soho Theatre, @HOME_mcr and Tim Whitehead are in shock and incredibly saddened with news of Heklina's passing. Our thoughts are with Peaches, Mommie Queerest company, Heklina's family, friends + their wider community.

Heklina's career
Heklina had an interesting career and she never thought that she would do this job. "When I moved to San Francisco, I fell in love with the punk style of some of the drag queens," Heklina told to reporters 15 years ago.
"I never sat down and said, 'I want to be a drag queen and run a nightclub.' When it happened and took off, it was kind of like I was meant to do this." Sister Roma is also in shock after everything that happened. The sudden death of Heklina surprised all her acquaintances and fans who talked about her greatness and special humor which amazed many.
"Absolutely devastated," Sister Roma wrote on Twitter. "@Heklina and I have been friends and worked together for more than 20 years. She is one of the funniest people I’ve ever known. This is a nightmare."
