David Jason, the beloved actor best known for his role as Derek "Del Boy" Trotter in the iconic BBC sitcom "Only Fools and Horses," has made a shocking revelation about his personal life. The actor has announced that he has a 52-year-old daughter whom he had been previously unaware of.

A Surprise Reunion

David expressed his delight at the discovery of his daughter, Abi Harris, who was born in 1970 after a brief relationship with actress Jennifer Hill. Speaking to The Mirror, Jason said, “To say it was a surprise to find out I had a daughter from years ago is an understatement.

However, on settling with the news, I am delighted that I am now able to get to know Abi and so we meet up when we can”. A Growing Family The actor is eager to build a family bond with Abi and her 10-year-old son Charlie, with the support of his wife, Gill Hinchcliffe, and their 22-year-old daughter Sophie.

Jason shared, “My wife, Gill, and daughter, Sophie, have been very supportive and understanding and have embraced Abi and welcomed her and her young son into her now wider family”. Jason continued, “We hope we are all allowed the privacy to continue our new relationship and get to know each other more and more”.

From "Del Boy" to Knight

David rose to fame playing the lovable and bumbling Derek “Del Boy” Trotter on "Only Fools and Horses" between 1981 and 1991, with multiple revivals of the character until 2003 and a Sport Relief sketch in 2014.

Last year, the actor-backed calls for the sitcom to be rebooted, saying, “I’ve always loved Del Boy, who is such a wonderful loser. I would love to revisit him; I need someone to write me a script”. After "Only Fools and Horses" went off the air in 1991, there have been multiple attempts to revive the series in various forms, including the spin-off "The Green Green Grass" and prequel "Rock and Chips." David married his wife Gill in 2005, ahead of his ceremony where he was knighted for his services to acting and comedy.
