British actress Millie Bobby Brown, best known for her role as Eleven in the hit Netflix series "Stranger Things", has declined an offer of ten million pounds to star in a spin-off film of the show. In an interview with Seventeen magazine, the young star revealed that she is eager to explore new opportunities and to diversify her acting portfolio.
A New Chapter in Millie's Career
In the interview, Millie stated, "I'm definitely ready to wrap up. I feel like there's a lot of the story that's been told now, and we know of it, it's been in our lives for a very long time.
But I'm very ready to say goodbye to this chapter of my life and open new ones. I'm able to create stories myself that are important to me and focus on the bigger picture." Despite her departure from the series, Millie expressed her gratitude for the show and the opportunities it has given her.
She said, "I'm really grateful [for that show]."
Education Takes Priority
Aside from her acting career, Millie has also been focusing on her education. She explained, "With my job being so emotional, it's really nice to just be able to detach from that and learn about something that's really interesting for me.
I'm really aware of how privileged I am to have the access to education and to learn more about the things that I want to learn about, and then help others in retrieving that education in communities and areas that young people aren't able to access curriculums.
It's just a circle that keeps giving."
Future of "Stranger Things"
Despite Millie's departure, the future of "Stranger Things" remains uncertain. A source close to the show told The Sun that there are numerous directions the show could go, including a potential stage show for Broadway and the West End, similar to "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child".
Another spin-off series following some of the show's main characters is also in the works. A source close to Netflix, the platform that aired the show, has stated that the company is still committed to filming spin-off projects based on the series.
Although it is unclear what exactly is being planned, it is possible that the project could be turned into a Broadway play. Millie Bobby Brown's refusal of the ten million pound offer to star in a "Stranger Things" spin-off film marks a new chapter in her career.
As she focuses on her education, the future of the hit Netflix series remains uncertain, but the platform is still committed to filming spin-off projects.
