Post her tumultuous separation from renowned soccer player Gerard Piqué, international sensation Shakira has been grappling with another challenging phase in her life. Her mother, Nidia Ripoll, was recently hospitalized due to a blood clot in her leg, raising concerns about her health.
Debunking Rumors and Confirming Conditions
Multiple Spanish news outlets initially reported that Ripoll had suffered a heart attack. However, Telemundo later clarified that she was in fact afflicted by venous thrombosis.
The same media outlet also reassured that Nidia is no longer in danger. Colombia's El Heraldo newspaper revealed that Ripoll was admitted to the hospital last Friday under "urgent" circumstances but is now "out of danger" and is anticipated to be discharged soon.
Life Transitions and Relocation Plans
Earlier this month, news broke that Shakira planned to move to Miami with her two sons, Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8, whom she shares with ex-partner Gerard Piqué. The relocation was scheduled for April after the former couple reached a custody agreement.
Initially, the Colombian artist intended to move from Barcelona to Florida with her sons in January, but the plan was postponed. Journalist Laura Fa shared with a publication, "What we're being told today is that she's got a scheduled date to move there which would be April 1.
