Jake Gyllenhaal has had a successful acting career, starring in a variety of films across different genres. One of his more memorable roles was in the 2002 film "The Good Girl," where he had the opportunity to work alongside actress Jennifer Aniston.
In a recent interview with The Howard Stern Show, Gyllenhaal opened up about his experience filming intimate scenes with Aniston and how it was both a "torture" and a "mix of both" for him. Gyllenhaal explained that he had a huge crush on Aniston at the time, which made filming the intimate scenes particularly difficult for him.
He said, "It was torture, yes it was, but it was also not torture. I mean, come on. It was like a mix of both." Despite his admiration for Aniston, Gyllenhaal also mentioned the inherent awkwardness of performing in front of a large crew during love scenes.
He stated, "Weirdly, love scenes are awkward because there are maybe 30, 50 people watching. That doesn't turn me on." Almost 20 years after the film's release, The Guilty star said the thing she remembers most about filming their love scenes was the use of pillows.
He added: "Most of the time, it's oddly mechanical, right? And also it's a dance, like, you choreograph it for a camera. It's one of those like a fight scene, you have got to choreograph those things and I always have tried." He then revealed that Jennifer had suggested that they use a pillow during practice scenes to make them more comfortable and relaxed.
"That was her suggestion. She was very kind to suggest it before we began. She said, 'I'm putting a pillow here,'" Jake recounted.
