Actor Johnny Depp recently took on the role of Jack Sparrow once again, but this time it was for a special and heartwarming reason. Depp reached out to 11-year-old YouTuber Kori, who is seriously ill and undergoing palliative care after two heart transplants, in order to cheer him up.
Depp appeared on Kori's YouTube channel, Kraken the Box, and sent him a message expressing his support and admiration. In the clip, Depp says, "Captain Kori... I understand you're quite the YouTube channel man... so what I'm saying is I would be glad to follow your YouTube channel and will tell all my friends to follow your YouTube channel.
I wish you the best of luck, I'm your number one fan Captain Kori, all my respect and love." The two also spoke on the phone, and Depp's message was met with enthusiasm and appreciation from Kori and his followers. Kori has been using his YouTube channel to stay positive and document his journey, and his goal is to collect 100,000 subscribers and earn the Silver Play Button award.
With Depp's support and the outpouring of love from fans, Kori was able to achieve this goal. Fans took to Twitter to express their admiration for Depp's kind gesture and to share their well-wishes for Kori.
One fan wrote:
“Johnny Depp reprised his role as Captain Jack Sparrow to help Captain Kori fulfil his dying wish of gaining 100,000 subscribers on YouTube...
“Today Kori's wish came true! Johnny Depp is a legend once again helping children who are terminally ill!” they added. While Depp has played the beloved character of Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise for many years, it was recently announced that he would not be reprising the role in the upcoming sequel.
However, Depp's portrayal of the character in this special moment will surely be remembered by fans and serves as a reminder of the positive impact that celebrities can have on the lives of others.
