Owen Wilson discusses why he has used 'wow' in at least 27 of his movies

Hollywood actor Owen Wilson won many viewers with his roles. However, if you are a loyal fan of his, you might have noticed that this actor has had a likable "tic" for years, which runs through almost all the characters he has embodied.

Now he explained what it means. Wilson is best known for his roles in romantic comedies, and we could often hear him exclaiming "wow" during them, which has already become a sort of saying for him. Owen's facial expression and the somewhat drawn-out "wow" he utters have become recognizable to many, which, from role to role, has made this "tic" of the actor even more endearing.

The 54-year-old explained why he's said the word countless times since his 1996 debut film Bottle Rocket, explaining that it's a sort of "sign" to his fans.

Wilson has gone on to use the word in 27 more of the 52 films

“Well, yes, but they’re for my really committed fans.

I throw out a little word, just sort of like a little wink and a nod to them. the actor explained. "It’s like those New Yorker [magazine] covers, that the guy would write his wife’s name into the illustration.

He continued: “If you’re lucky enough to be one of those really committed fans, then I give you these little clues that are out there”. Since his debut, Wilson has gone on to use the word in 27 more of the 52 films he's appeared in, uttering it a total of 81 more times.

His fans have even collected some interesting facts about Wilson's "wow", including how this saying is used the most in the movie "Midnight in Paris" from 2011, where he repeated it 7 times. "In these 27 movies, Wilson says 'wow' a total of 81 times, and 'Midnight in Paris' holds the record for the most times he's said the word.

He mentioned it seven times," his fans noted. Wilson is aware that his fans go crazy when he says "wow", and once held an event where a large group of them gathered to shout his favorite word in unison. Also, a compilation of films was made on YouTube until 2017, when Owen used all of his sayings.

By the way, Owen is still active in filmmaking, and the latest achievement of this actor is the one with Jennifer Lopez, the film "Marry Me", which was released at the beginning of this year.
