Multiple sclerosis may force Christina Applegate to retire soon

Christina Applegate, who plays the lead role in the Netflix series "Dead to Me", while the audience remembers her for her role in the series "Marriage Waters" from the 90s, admitted that her career could end due to the battle with the disease.

Applegate has stated that it is possible that her career will end due to her ongoing battle with multiple sclerosis. She was diagnosed with the disease in 2021, and after that her life changed quite a bit. She was recently interviewed by Variety, where she said that the Jen Harding character she portrays in "Dead to Me" is very likely the last one she will play.

"Jen Harding is the one, who - who knows, quite possibly the last one I'll play. With my disease, I don't know how capable I am. But this was a gift. This was a gift to me." "It had to be cold because heat is our kryptonite," she shared about her condition and limitations, "Can't work those 18-hour days, you know? It was impossible."

She explained that she had to be cold on the set and that she couldn't work 18 hours a day, and said that it would be impossible. She also praised Liz Feldman and the rest of the crew for showing her support and being "full of love."

Netflix has been supportive of her condition

She also revealed how Netflix understood her condition and that the crew would even change filming if the day was not good: "If I called them in the morning, and was like, 'Guys, I can't get down the stairs,' they were like, 'OK!

We won't do it today. We'll do other stuff,'" Netflix is ??also involved and wants to help the actress get better: "Netflix even let us take a break for a couple of months so that I could mourn, and find treatment."

But the end of her acting career may not be the end of her professional career as there are many opportunities in Hollywood, producing, writing and many other things that she can do while fighting the disease. "I'd like to develop stuff, I'd like to produce stuff, I've got a lot of ideas in my mind, and I just need to get them executed."
