Obviously, Hyundai has done its best again as yet another model of the IONIQ series has gone on to become one of the best electric cars in the world. Despite it being somewhat unusual, the Hyundai IONIQ 6 won the title this time around.

A Hyundai IONIQ 6 won 2023 World Car of the Year title, showing a somewhat unusual appearance, but it's all about aerodynamics, thus reducing air resistance, and improving battery efficiency. We can confirm that the design of this model is totally different from the IONIQ 5 model, which we were able to test in detail ourselves.

It is no wonder that Hyundai's IONIQ 6 range of cars won three awards at the 2023 New York Auto Show, including the best design award (2023 World Design Car) and the best electric vehicle award (2023 World Electric Vehicle), as well as the ultimate award of the best car of the year (2023 World Car of the Year).

There is no end to the awards that the Hyundai Group has won since then - the sister Kia EV6 GT also competed in the 2023 World Performance Car category and won an additional award.

Hyundai's electric IONIQ 6 is a car that more than worthy of competing with other European models such as the BMW iX1/X1 and Kia Niro, which were both shortlisted for this award.

In contrast, there was a competition for the title of best luxury electric car of the year between BMW i7, Range Rover and Lucid Air, and Lucid Air won the title. A Citroen C3 won the annual award for the best urban car, which was given to the company.

The success of Hyundai is again stunning, and the company defeated giants like the Kia EV9, Polestar 3 and Audi Q8 e-tron, and has another model in the pipeline, the Hyundai IONIQ 7. What is interesting is that Hyundai electric cars aren't exactly following these awards, as sales are weaker than expected.

Although it is hard to determine the reason for the low sales figures, it may have something to do with the high price, long waiting list, or something else.
