Ideally, a mid-engined supercar would succeed the M1 as the most powerful production BMW. There is no doubt that SUVs are still a way to make money for automakers, so Bavaria's most powerful model is also a large SUV. Meet the spicy label red specification of the XM in its original form.
Designed to be more than five meters long, the vehicle rides on 23-inch wheels and will be unveiled to the public at Auto Shanghai in China next week. It is worth mentioning that the regular XM has a maximum power of 644 hp and an 800 Nm maximum torque, while the Label Red has an output of over 740 hp and 1000 Nm.
In order to enhance the performance of the vehicle, a new twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine is used, paired with an electric motor transmitted through a transmission with eight gears, which is known as the "S68" engine configuration.
Horsepowers
The powerful internal combustion engine now produces over 580 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque on its own, and this represents a significant improvement over the standard model, which produced just 94 horsepower and 100 Nm more.
As for the electric motor, this one is still the same as the standard XM with 200 horsepower and 279 Newton meters. To increase the maximum torque of the base model to 452 Nm, there is one stage of the previous gear that has been removed.
The XM Label Red is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds thanks to the new powertrain, which is four-tenths of a second faster than the standard variant. In total, the M Driver's Package will give you the option to choose between a top speed that reaches 250 km/h or a top speed that reaches 282 km/h depending on the package you choose.
This sporty SUV is adorned with Toronto red accents along the side and around the powerful kidneys of the SUV in order to distinguish it from the regular XM. On the wheels and on the contour of the diffuser, you will also notice that there are red inserts that are placed.
Also, the XM markings on the vehicle are also red, as well as the brake calipers, which are also red. Instead of the usual Brooklyn Gray Metallic color, Label Red will be available in more than 50 different colors at no extra charge as an alternative to the usual Label Red color scheme.
