As Porsche celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Boxster concept car, Porsche is debuting the most powerful version of this popular mid-engine roadster to date, the new Porsche 718 Spyder RS. The new Porsche 718 Spyder RS is the most powerful mid-engine roadster ever.
Introducing the first mid-engined, open-top sports car in the world that boasts a naturally aspirated, high-revving engine derived from the 911 GT3. A new model for Porsche's mid-engined 718 model line is the 718 Spyder RS, which is the successor to the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, which offers maximum driving pleasure.
As a first in a mid-engined sports car, Porsche has used its naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer from the 911 GT3 for the first time. It produces 368 kW (500 hp). Using the same lightweight power unit, with its high-revving design, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup racecar is powered by the same lightweight power unit.
The 718 Spyder RS model has a very light and puristically pleasing manual soft top that adds to the convincing sound of the engine of this extremely light and pleasing model. Further enhancement of the overall effect can be achieved by the stainless steel lightweight sports exhaust system that is standard and the distinctive vents on either side of the headrests that are made of process air.
