With the addition of Performance, 621 hp and 850 Nm of maximum torque arrive with Audi's formidable RS duo. The latest "stunt" from Audi, in which they announced that they will produce only electric cars from 2026, is based on the terrible duo RS6 Avant/RS7 Sportback, which received even more powerful versions hidden behind the word Performance.
In the Audi Sport department, they found a way to "place" an additional 21 hp and 50 Nm of torque in the 4-liter bi-turbo V8 engine, so the buyers of the aforementioned duo can now count on 621 hp and 850 Nm, which is distributed through an 8-speed automatic transmission to both axles (Quattro).
In addition to additional "horses", the Audi duo also received a newly developed central differential in the Performance version, which is more compact and lighter than the previous one and is responsible for the optimal distribution of torque between the axles.
In addition to optional carbon-ceramic brakes, which are 34 kilograms lighter than standard brakes, the new (optional) 22-inch rims, which are five kilograms lighter than the previous ones, will help to reduce the car's weight, so another 20 kilograms have been removed.
The rims are fitted with Continental SportContact 7 tires, size 285/30. "You’ll find a BMW M5 slightly more fun to drive and a Mercedes E63 Estate has a bigger boot, but the Audi RS6 Avant is better looking than both and nicer inside," says Mat Watson, carwow expert.
60 mph in 3.4 seconds
With more power and less weight, the RS6 Avant Performance and RS7 Sportback Performance reach 60 mph in 3.4 seconds (0.2 faster than before), and with the RS Dynamic Plus package, the maximum speed instead of 173 mph is 189 mph.
"One of the Audi RS7 Sportback’s biggest competitors doesn’t come from Mercedes, Porsche or BMW, but Audi itself in the form of the more practical – but equally rapid – RS6 Avant." Mat Watson added.
Along with both models, Audi Sport offers 16 body colors, including two matte options, and the Performance version is decorated with a few details in matte gray. It can't be better.
