The company Rimac Automobili published on its YouTube channel a video of the feat of its Nevera electric hypercar, which set a new record for maximum speed for production electric cars. Nevera reached a speed of even 412 km/h in Germany, and Miroslav Zrn?evi?, the chief test driver of the company Rimac Automobili, was behind the wheel.
“An incredible speed of 412 km/h is not something you do every day. When we decided to confirm this speed, we made sure we had everything we needed, a location that would give us enough space to reach speed and stop safely, the right tires that are in this case the Michelin Cup 2R, an expert to check their condition, a special Nevera aero profile that reduces downforce at the front of the car balancing it for stability and a man on a mission to join the 400+ club, our test and development driver Mir”, it was announced from the company.
The fastest acceleration in the world.
Nevera traveled 402 meters in 8.582 seconds last year, making it the production car with the fastest acceleration in the world. “To travel at 412kph, or 258mph, means travelling at a third of the speed of sound.
Simply achieving that alone in a road car is incredibly complex, but in Nevera we have created a car that can travel long distances on a single charge, can tackle tight and twisting race tracks and can drift as well as break straight-line speed records, both for acceleration and V-MAX,” said Miro.
“I’ve driven Nevera since it first turned a wheel and to see the perfectly honed car that is today is a really emotional moment. The most important thing I have learned during the top-speed attempt is how composed and stable the car was – confirming that our aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics teams have done an amazing job”.
By the way, Rimac delivers the Nevera to customers with an electronically limited speed of 352 km/h, but they can also experience the maximum speed at special events for customers with the support of Rimac's team of experts and under controlled conditions.
Nevera develops 1,914 hp and 2,360 Nm of torque, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.97 seconds, and up to 300 km/h in 9.2 seconds. The battery capacity is 120 kWh.
