Bentley Bentayga Odyssean Edition: Eco-Friendly SUV for the elite

Bentley is first and foremost an ultra-luxury brand that always takes care of tradition and heritage, but is also an industry leader when it comes to sustainability. The company is on track to become an electric and carbon-neutral brand by 2030, and its latest creation, the Bentayga Hybrid Odyssean Edition, is a blend of craftsmanship and environmentally friendly practices.

Following in the footsteps of the Flying Spur Odyssean Edition, the hybrid SUV is produced with very little impact on the environment. The interior is as sumptuous as one might expect. The open-pore koa veneer found on the center console uses 90 percent less varnish than high-gloss veneers.

Not only does it look more contemporary, but it also allows the natural surface to shine. The dashboard and door panels feature Piano Linen veneer which gives the interior a soothing and sophisticated effect. Bentley still decided to use upholstery leather, but it is a natural and sustainable leather that should be durable.

Tesla and BMW are two of the many manufacturers that have offered customers vegan or synthetic leather in recent years. Other companies like Land Rover offer high-quality fabric options for those who don't like leather. Bentley used British wool for some elements of the interior, and details made of tweed were used to decorate the cabin panels.

Customers can choose from five leather specifications, combining different leather colors with light and airy linen upholstery, which is visible in the photos. This is paired with a warm autumn hue to create an exceptional three-colour palette that is also a first for the facelifted Bentayga.

Opening the door reveals another special detail, namely the tiles on the door sills with the inscription Odyssean edition.

The special edition badge is also on the D pillar.

The creamy white color shown in the photos suits the "tranquility" of the Odyssean Edition model.

Bentley has chosen six colors that go well with the rims, but the company's full palette of more than 60 colors is also available to customers. The SUV has 22-inch ten-spoke rims with Pale Brodgar details, and this treatment was also chosen for the lower part of the body, including the light frames, bumpers and chrome details.

Regarding the hybrid powertrain, the Bentaygu Odyssean Edition is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine that develops 443 hp, and there is also an electric motor. The electric range is 50 kilometers. The cabin is luxuriously equipped and includes the Comfort package of front seats, which includes the possibility of adjustment in 22 directions and the function of heating and cooling.

Touring specification provides a range of driver assistance systems, including lane keeping, traffic assist and adaptive cruise control. Only 70 units will be produced, and sales will begin this month. Production will start in the first quarter of 2023.
