In a recent statement, Hiba Abouk, the actress and wife of PSG footballer Achraf Hakimi, has spoken out about the recent allegations of rape against her husband and their subsequent divorce. The Spanish star of "El Principe" broke her silence to clarify the situation and to put an end to the spread of false information.
The Decision to Separate
In her statement, Abouk explains that she and the father of her children had made the decision to end their relationship before the rape allegations came to light. She says, "The reality is that some time ago, after much consideration, the father of my children and I made the decision to end our relationship, long before the events that I was involved in in the media and of which I was completely unaware." The actress went on to describe the additional pain she faced during the divorce proceedings, saying, "After making the decision to legally separate and stop living together, pending the divorce proceedings, who would have imagined that in addition to facing the well-known pain that a separation entails, and accepting the grief that the failure of a family project entails to whom I had given myself body and soul, I would have to face this ignominy."
After weeks of speculations suggesting that Moroccan football player #AchrafHakimi and his wife #HibaAbouk have separated, Abouk broke her silence and confirmed her separation from the Paris Saint-Germain star.

A Stand for Justice
Abouk, who has been a vocal activist for human rights and refugees since the beginning of her career, states that she has always been and will always be on the side of victims.
She says, "It goes without saying that in my life I have always been and will always be on the side of the victims, therefore, given the seriousness of the accusation, we can only trust in the good conduct of justice." The rape allegations against Hakimi were first reported by French newspaper Le Parisien, which stated that the investigation was opened by the prosecutor's office in Nanterre after a 24-year-old woman accused Hakimi of rape.
The soccer player has denied the accusations, and his lawyer claims that it was an attempt at extortion. Abouk has asked for privacy and respect for her and her children during these delicate circumstances. She says, "I beg you to respect my privacy and that of my children in these delicate circumstances. Thank you to all the people who have shown me their support, love and respect."
