Promising young fighter Victoria Lee dies at 18

The world of mixed martial arts is in mourning after the death of Victoria Lee, a member of ONE Championship, Asia's largest MMA promotion. Victoria, who was just 18 years old, was set to fight on January 14 at the first ONE show of the year.

However, it has now been confirmed by her sister and fellow martial arts star Angela Lee that Victoria passed away on December 26.

Announcment of Victoria's death

The Lee family has chosen to keep the news of Victoria's death private until now, and the cause of her death has not been disclosed.

In an Instagram post, Angela wrote, “On December 26, 2022 our family experienced something no family should ever have to go through,” “It is incredibly difficult to say this … Our Victoria passed away.

She has gone too soon and our family has been completely devastated since then," “We miss her. More than anything in this world. Our family will never be the same. Life will never be the same”. “Victoria was the most beautiful soul who ever lived,” Angela Lee added.

“She was the best little sister in the world. The best daughter, the best granddaughter and the best auntie." “We miss you so much sis. More than you could ever realise. We’re all broken. Because a piece of you was in each of us and when you left, those pieces were ripped out of us.

We will never be the same."

Former two-division MMA champion Aung La N Sang commented, “I am so sorry to hear that, condolences to the Lee family”.

“I am so sorry for your loss. Sending all my love to your family,” former ONE fighter Bi Nguyen wrote in a reply. Victoria, who was a teammate of Angela's and was coached by Angela's husband, Bruno Pucci, was born and reared in Hawaii, where the Lee family had relocated from Canada.

Victoria was already well-known in the MMA community despite her early age. At the age of 16, she competed in her first professional match. She went on to win three matches with ONE Championship.
