The album’s lead single, Please Don’t Go Girl peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Singles chart.

The band followed up with two more successful singles, You Got It, and I’ll Be Loving You. After a successful album, New Kids on the Block released the third studio album Step by Step which topped on the Billboard Charts. The hit singles, Tonight, Baby I Believe In You and Let’s Try It Again. The album was certified triple platinum and sold over 20 million copies worldwide.

In 1994, The band shortened their name to NKOTB after Maurice Starr split from the group and released their fourth album Face the Music which reached at No. 37 on Billboard 200. However, the album received positive reviews from the critics. Afterward, the group broke in 1995.

After several years, Donnie rejoined the band NKOTB  and released a reunion album The Block which topped on the Billboard charts. Thus, the band backed the record with a world tour. The tour helped to reconnect with their fans. Though, they weren’t as popular as they had been in the 1990s. In December 2017, the band released their EP titled Thankful. In October 2018, New Kids on the Block announced plans to tour along with 90s stars such as Naughty, Debbie Gibson and Tiffany for their Mixtape Tour.

Donnie Wahlberg was born as Donald Edmond Wahlberg Jr on August 17, 1969, to Donald Wahlberg and Alma Wahlberg in Boston, Massachusetts. His father was a truck driver, and mother was a nurse and worked at St. Margarate Hospital. He is eighth of nine children. Donald has eight siblings, Arthur, Jim, Paul, Robert, Tracey, Michelle, Debbie, and Mark. His older brother, Debbie died in 2003 and his younger brother, Mark is an actor and rapper. Wahlberg also has three half-siblings from his father’s previous marriage, Donna, Scott, and Buddy.

His parents divorced in 1982. After his parent’s divorce, he and his younger lived with his mother. Donnie attended Copley Square High School in Boston. During his school, he involved in various field such as singing, writing and directing. By age 15, he became a member of the teen vocal group called NYNUK.
